Appointments
We offer a variety of appointments:
Online Consultations – You can consult with us online using this form. We recommend this as the preferred option to contact us. If a telephone or face to face appointment is necessary following an online consultation, you will be notified.
Telephone Consultations – If you prefer, you can have a telephone consultation.
Face to face appointments – Face to face GP appointments are available Monday to Friday to book on the day or in advance with all clinicians if that is the outcome from your eConsultation.
Extended hours appointments – In addition to our normal appointments, we also have evening and weekend appointments available at local GP hubs.
Online appointment booking – Appointments with Practice Nurses can be booked online via the NHS App.
Your Responsibilities as a Patient
We try hard at Kingsbridge Medical Practice to offer the very best service we can to our patients. Please help us to help you by letting us know in advance if you are unable to attend an appointment. Please also try to be punctual.
We have a zero tolerance approach to violence. Any abusive behaviour, physical or verbal, towards our staff or other patients will be taken very seriously. In the case of violence, the police will be informed and you are likely to be removed from our list.
Home Visiting
Visit requests should be made by 11am. This system helps the doctors to plan their rounds to avoid delays and ensure that where possible you are seen by the doctor who knows you best. Whenever possible you should attend the surgery. Home visits are for those who are genuinely housebound or severely ill. In particular, it is almost always quicker and more appropriate to bring a child to the surgery to be seen.
Please note: It is recognised by the government that provision of a home visit is at a GP’s discretion and is only required on the basis of genuine medical need and for no other reason.
General Queries
If you are unsure about something and need advice, please call us and speak to a member of our administration team. If your query needs the support of a GP or Practice Nurse, the team will let you know and take the most appropriate route to resolve it. This may involve waiting for a GP or Nurse to call you back to discuss your query, or waiting for a member of our administration team to call you back once they have sought advice.
